Hello everyone, I hope you all had a nice day! Life over here has gone quite well. Ok… lets get into matter, this post that you’re about to read is one that I’ve been having in mind ever since I started my little corner in the cyber world lol. They have always said that music and fashion are linked; I believe this theory, why? Well, they’re both a type of art, a medium of expression where you demonstrate your feeling and individuality through clothes and lyrics. That’s why this post is a tribute to all my favorite oldie music bands, especially from the 90’s (I’m sort of stuck in the 90’s, I miss it so much!), so sit back and… Enjoy!

PLEASE tell me there is SOMEBODY out there that remembers these cute and AWESOME Canadian brothers (Scott, Dave, Bob and Clint Moffatt)! I fell in love with the four of them when I was 8. It was basically my sisters fault, I think we were the only ones in the whole island that had their CD, since my sister had to order it because it didn't came to stores in Puerto Rico. They were the only ''boy band'' I liked (I wasn't a fan of BSB or Nsync, don't hate me, I later started listening to them) since they didn't dance, I love the fact that they played their own instruments in a period where everybody loved bands that sing and dance. And for their age (14 the triplets Dave, Bob and Clint and 15 Scott) they were EXTREMELY talented! Everytime I listen to their music I keep repeating myself: '' I want them BACK!'' And they were cool, they liked Nirvana lol!

And who remembers this sweet Swedish quartet? After listening to ABBA I have to say, these kids did an excellent work, I love their first CD and their second album was so pop and fun! Too bad they're not together anymore!

Okay, these guys were the ones who got me into music, I hated all these boy bands (the ones that sing and dance) and ever since I saw these three guys making fun of them (All the Small Things music video is my all time favorite) I instantly fell in love with them! If I keep talking about how amazing they're for me I will never end this post, so I'll just stick to saying, they...are...AWESOME! They reunited a few months ago and recently they're on a Summer 2009 world tour, and I'll never forgive my self for not going to their concert in Florida! I hope I get to see them someday; they will always be my favorite band EVER!

I'm not a Robot!

I’m sorry… so sorry for abandoning the cyber world for almost a month. Is that lately I’ve been tortured with homework, exams and other torturing student obligations, lol. A lot of things have occurred in this sunny little island, and a lot is about to happened (political issues) but I will not bore you with details. Despite all of this chaos, I found a new way of channelizing my emotions by… writing. And while I was about to take my second exam of this semester I stepped outside of the machine and observed society around me. Suddenly I realized how mechanized and systematic our education has turned.

How can you measure an individual’s ability to learn? I know you may think I’m crazy (don’t worry I believe it myself lol) but society nowadays is just a machine. And the educational system has developed our minds to think and act like they want us to. It’s not about learning it’s about earning. How can a game of words (a test) measure our knowledge, it’s impossible, it limits are capacity to develop our thoughts. You study to get a career (that lets you money) get a job, consume, consume, consume and you have no time left for nothing other than work and consume. No time to read, cultivate your mind, observe the world around you and appreciate the real value of life. While I was in the hallway observing everybody taking their last glance to their notebooks I realized that we weren’t really learning anything. We are just filling our brain with a bunch of information and subtracting our ability to think critically. We are becoming robots of a capitalist society. And as I was observing the world around me I realized that the system trains us to become what they want…consumers with no capacity to think or to posses an original and unique identity. I don’t want to fall into that cycle; I don’t want to be another unknown robot, a number. That’s why I’m determined to follow my calling (even though I still don’t know for sure what it is), I’m going to be no one but me. And while I was observing my surroundings, verses came to my mind and a poem I ended writing. I compared the educational system with a game, because that’s what it seems it is (over here, I know it’s not the same in other parts of the world). I must confess that I’m not an expert, these are one of the fewest poems I’ve written, sorry if it’s not that good, I tried my best and here it goes.

The game starts when the bell rings

It rang, it began
Here is what we are going to do
We’ll test your knowledge with a game
We’ll grade your gray matter with a game of charades
I’ll choose if you’re smart or dumb
If I like you, winner you’ll be
If I don’t, loser you're destined to be

Let’s play guess who or hide but don’t seek
Don’t worry if you don’t have a clue

Your life will be the pawn in the chess set

On the other hand one of my most awaited events of the year took place… New York and London Fashion Week!! Betsey Johnson, Luella and Anna Sui were the ones I’ve been waiting for. Betsey was awesome, Anna Sui was incredible but I have to admit I expected more of Luella. It’s not that it was bad, but it was totally different, I missed her girly, geeky, punk, schoolgirl style. But anyways I loved her collection! I also loved Milly’s collection, it so Upper Eastsider, real cute oh! And Moschino Cheap & Chic was another one of my fav! Winter and Fall won’t come out and play with me!

Hey everyone, sorry for being such a bad blogger but I’ve been very busy with some interesting things like… homework! sarcasm* The past week was one that my Bff and I called the ‘’limbo week’’, since we were literally in a limbo mode. Our University went into a strike on Wednesday so we didn’t have uni that day, after that, a storm was arriving on Thursday night, Erika, which it transform into a depression and after the governor had suspended schools and work for Friday he later changed his mind and everything went back to ‘’normal’’.

Despite the ‘’enchantments’’ that occur in this sunny little island; I’ve been missing something I haven’t seen for a long time (16 years) and that is… FALL and WINTER!!! I moved to this tropical island when I was three and ever since I have never got use to the weather. I remember passing my elementary years wearing a sweater that my mom made for my older sister back then when we lived in Pennsylvania. I never left the house without it, everybody made fun of me because I was the only freak wearing a sweater on a 95F degree day even my teachers asked me if I was melting in it, but to be honest… I wasn’t . I think I programmed my brain to feel chilled and not hot. Living in a tropical island can be fun at first. Hey, you get to have sun, beaches, sand, palms and even coconuts whenever you want but what happens when you live in a never ending summer? You miss the snow, that fall breeze mixed with those gorgeous brown leaves and the chance to wear an incredible warm and cozy coat! The other day I was suffering at Old Navy; they brought these beautiful coats in red and green, I started complaining of the climate over here and why do they bring things like these to this place if you could never go out wearing a coat in this place not even in the coldest day of winter. But I surpassed the pain; comforting myself with the dream that someday I’ll move back to the north or to a place where all the four seasons visit me.

Here are some of the outfits I would love to wear someday! What better than the The Devil Wears Prada movie to receive inspiration. I just haven’t seen a movie that has so many fashion in it like this one. It’s one of my favorites, with an incredible cast and the most amazing city in the world as the setting!

Loved everything in this outfit but I absolutely want that Chanel necklace!

Me, Myself and the Books...

Hola everyone! Lately I’ve been really busy with homework, homework and more homework, oh and lots of ideas that have been spinning in my mind for the last few of days. Thinking about life, especially. But yesterday I made the unconventional, I took a bit of my time and instead of hitting the books –well paper copies-I did something productive –other than watching some episodes of Skins on you tube, I got to say some scenes are really strong but I just fast forward the heavy parts- I made my first ever fashion inspirational mural –actually the second, because the first attempt was a Luella& Betsey Johnson mural shaped like the Eiffel tower, it didn’t last a day when all the pictures started to fall off- I was really proud of myself. So now this wall works as a compass for me; whenever I get lost in all this bizarre I look at my now favorite wall in the room and I receive a sense of direction. It’s like a voice that tells me ‘’hey look over here, this is where you want to go, and this is where you want to be!’’ . It comforts me a lot.

On the other hand I’m doing something I haven’t done in a while… write. I know what you may be thinking… this girl has gone nuts, she writes almost every week!? Yes and it’s true, but It’s been a long time since I’ve written artistically, with metaphors and symbolism and rhymes and games of words. I started writing a short story. It all came from a nightmare I had a few nights ago, it was so scary that I decided to turn it into a story. The tale is about a girl, pretty much like me, that presence a series of murders in her calm and friendly neighborhood of Glooming Town. She enhances on a series of investigations and discovers that she is the next one on the list… I know it sounds psycho, but I like those type of story. It has been taking me a lot of time to develop it because every time I sit to write muse hits me and a waterfall of ideas fall into my head forming a river of events that ends in words. I suddenly transform myself into an omniscient being where I see all these cold scenes right in front of me, It’s just like being inside a movie, and it makes me want to keep on writing and never stop. In my boring classes I just pick up my note pad and transport myself into this world, it helps a lot, it’s my new therapy. Okay I must stop talking about this because I may be freaking you out… sorry!

Now, on other daily basis issues I got my first prescript glasses. I need them to read and for working in front of the computer. They are actually guys’ glasses but they work as both, and they cost me an eye, almost literally but they’re Persol made in Italy and blah, blah, the thing is that I like them and I had some savings so if I was going to invest on something I’ll might as well invest on something good. And last but not least the coolest thing today was going to Borders after school and buying the September issue of Elle! I was looking for Vogue but I didn’t find it; that was until I saw it after I already paid for Elle mag and was heading my way to the exit door, but what the heck, I still liked Elle.

So Little Time So Much to Do...

Hey guys! Sorry for the abandonment of these past weeks but as you all know I started school two weeks ago. And I have to say that the only qualified adjective that best describes these past weeks is… frustration. I’m going to confess (sorry if I use this post to spill out all my problems but here is the only place where I can tell the world what’s going on in my tormented days) I hate my university. I know education must be a right not a privilege –but come on… let’s face it, sometimes it’s a privilege rather than a right- I’m not regretting the fact that I have this opportunity, I’m just mad at the educational system over here. First of all the education is horrible the professors are mediocre, they don’t care a thing about your ideals (some people may not care, but at least show a little bit of respect) in your face and in front of the whole classroom you can be discussing a point and professors can tell you ‘’I don’t care what you think’’… ‘’You’re wrong, I’m right’’… ‘’ The A is for me, the B for the book, the C’s for the desk and the D’s and F’s, well, share them among the group’’ Literally, I’m quoting. This is not educational at all! This is just a give-me-your-money, sit on a desk for God-knows-how-long, listen to all the stupidity a professor has to say (they think they’re the best next thing after Coke just because they have a PhD and everything around them is worthless) stand all his or her greedy moods (and don’t you dare complain because the university has a law where professors can do and say whatever they want in their classroom, they put the rules, imagine I have professors that prohibits you from going to the bathroom in class), write all the junk that they want to hear in a piece of paper and if you stand all this humiliation for 4 years then congratulations, you get your diploma! This is a repression of ideals, a humiliation of one’s dignity and honesty! Where is my voice in this place… nowhere, I don’t have one, they don’t let you have one. They’re crushing my dreams, my thoughts, my ideals and I won’t permit that. Universities are supposed to be a universe of ideas a variety of thoughts where each idea is respected; well here it’s the total opposite. Even students disrespect your believes (they also say racist comments in a class discussion) instead of defending –civilized- a point of view they argue like animals. This place is a jungle (especially because everybody looks at me weird, as in everybody looks at me like if I were a freak or an alien of another planet)! My only motto is my dream, that’s my motivation.

While I was in a misery room (class room) sitting in a cold, hard and uncomfortable desk I was putting in practice my only source of escape from this nightmare… imagination. Since it’s invisible I can employ it anytime I want. This helps me transport my mind into a perfect world, for instance a fairy tale world like the ones I have in photos of a Korean Elle girl shooting. I dream of places I want to live in like NYC, London, Paris and Sydney. I fancy about all the clothes I want to design, the films I want to make, the photos I wish to take and the things I want to write while the Better Days song of the Goo Goo Dolls is running through my mind keeping me motivated for the rest of the day. And wishing for the time to go fast forward I spend my days wishing this was over. Sorry for using this post as a therapy session but I needed to get all of this anger out of my system. Sorry for being ascent for so long and return with a sack of complaints. I promise I will try to build up this puzzle; I must add that I never stop thinking about the importance of my blog , every day I knew I had to blog, but really, I didn’t had the time or strength to transform all this anger into words.

Back to School! Wish Vacations never end!

Sorry for being such a bad blogger. First of all I would like to apologize for not commenting on your blogs! I’ve been away for almost two weeks – doctors, labs, medicine, and blah, blah, blah- But I’m back. I’m getting ready for my ‘’Back to Hell... sorry, Back to School’’ lol. I don't want vacations to be over, I'll have to say farewell to my days of freedom and nothingness. But I had a nice summer (excluding the visits to the doctors and hospital... yuck!) I saw more movies than what I expected! And I opened a portal to the cyber world with my little corner of self expression (thanks readers for your comments you really motivate me to keep writing).
I hope this year gets to be better than the last one. It really didn’t go as I planned. Still I haven’t bought a single pencil and I’m thinking of what clothes am I going to buy. Obviously has to be cheap; I’m on a low budget like always lol. But something different, I want a style that nobody around me has. I don’t care if people look at me weird (which they usually do). So looking here and there for ideas and inspiration for my new ‘’back to school wardrobe’’ I bumped into these Forever 21 photos from their ‘’Heritage 1981 Back to School '09 Photoshoot’’ I fell in love with the outfits, even though I’m craving for something more Nancy Drew style lol. I loved the shooting, I found it really original it seemed like the scenery matched the outfits! Hope you like the pix! Enjoy!

Wake Up Wake Up

Yesterday was GNO for me! My sis, BFF and me headed to sunny Old San Juan, my favorite city in whole island! Walking through the streets I realized why so many people come from all around the world to get a glimpse of this historical Caribbean spot. Their castles, murals, and Spanish colonial houses are unique. The colors are as bright as the Sun; and the palms, sea and sun merge into one picture creating the perfect scenery for a Saturday night (specially a GNO one). This 600 year old beauty keeps charming me every time I go. Hey, no wonder they decided to film Wizard of Waverly Place and Princess Protection Program here, not to mention the Selena Gomez cover shoot for Teen Vogue. 90's back alright!

So I was little, and the closest thing I had to fashion inspirations were my favorite T.V shows. But who didn’t try to dress like the colorful Lizzie and Miranda from the wonderful world of Lizzie McGuire? I tried to copy everything, from their outfits to their hair styles. What can I say? I was a Lizzie McGuire freak -hey, who didn't love that everyday normal girl that everybody could relate to?-. Now that I see the episodes on You Tube I realize -Yes, I watch the series even though I‘m kind of old for that!- that their shirts not always matched with their pants or skirts. The accessories were crazy, from bandanas to UK flag headbands and platform shoes… Were law. But still though I like it! You may think I’m a freak but I’m still capable of dressing like that again. They were really casual and free. And free is the concept I mostly like. Who cares if everything matches or not? Fashion is about feeling comfortable with who you are, what you’re wearing and satisfying your own style.

Not only T.V shows had inspired my wardrobe. For me the mid 90’s and the beginning of the millennium have been my fashion inspirations . Music, T.V shows and movies have been my muse. So now I'll show you a few of my 90-00’s favorite styles.

You may call me childish but I still love her style, the colors remind me of the 60's!

It was the beginning of a new century and all this futuristic drama was really stuck in my head! I wanted to dress like her so bad; I remember her outfits were made out of some certain plastic...so cool!Living in a space station, that's definitely out o f this planet! The cool thing about Earth was that eve ry car was a VW Beetle! :)

Confessions of a Teenage Recessionista

I’m alive! After 14 hours in the Hospital (yes, again in the Hospital) this time I had the fright of my life. At first I thought it was my Appendix but after some lab test’s they found out I had kidney stones. Thank God I’m now under antibiotics that will expulse the kidney stones out of my system, and the pain has decreased, so that’s good news (except the fact that I catched a cold because of the air conditioning,it was so freaking cold!). Well, now I’ll share with you a post I wrote a few days ago, before all this bizarre took place…

The world is experiencing an economical crisis for the past eight years (could be less or more) and day by day fashion shopaholics (I include myself) are struggling to survive in this sea of bizarreness. Some of us have been mildly touched and some of us have been severely affected by the recession. People have lost their jobs, lost their cars and homes; families have been divided. Cutting unnecessary spends it’s the first step to saving money. But we all know how hard it is to walk off and ignore that gorgeous garment you just saw in the mall. That feeling of ‘’must have’’ drives you crazy for days, you even dream and daydream of it. The secret is to calm down and think like a recessionista. There’re a lot of ways of achieving a diverse wardrobe without spending a fortune. And for that I’ve made some rules that I remember myself every time I go shopping.

Rule No. 1: I never spend more than $10.00 on a shirt. I know it sounds a bit crazy and exaggerated but believe me it works, why have one cool shirt when you can have several shirts and match them with other pants, skirts and accessories.

Rule No.2: Establish a limited budget. Don’t waste more than necessary.

Rule No. 3: Try to buy pieces that give a twist to your outfit. Something that matches with everything but at the same time it makes every outfit look special. In my case that piece is my favorite black cardigan. It always gives a geeky look (that I love) to my outfits. It all depends on your daily style.

Rule No. 4: Run to the clearance section! Don’t even think about turning in to look at what’s in front of the store. Believe me, when you see the tag, it’s going to hurt. Clearance's are the best, you can always find that gorgeous blouse you wanted for half the price. I always pay attention to when they put more clothes on clearance. And always be careful with sales, sometimes they can be a bit tricky.

Rule No. 5: Do I really need this? Always ask yourself if what you’re holding in your hands right now is really worth it. Don’t be a compulsive buyer (I know it’s hard not to be one), always have in mind your needs ask yourself if you are really going to wear that and if it matches with something in your wardrobe. Variety is very important.

Shopping should be fun, and you don’t need to be a millionaire to portrait a wonderful style. It’s all about creativity and imagination (and staying on budget). I don’t always come out with a bag every time I go to the mall. The recession has hit my family very hard but we’ve always lived in a struggling economic status. So I know what is like to not always have what you want or worse what you really need. I hope my five top recessionista rules helped you! Let me know what measures have you take. Have a nice day!

What is your favorite item of clothing?

Socks, accessories and cardigans. I’m obsessed with socks especially the long striped colored ones.

What are your biggest obsessions?

Biggest obsession jumm… I could say I’m a bit perfectionist. I like things to come out as I planned, and I do get really obsessed when I want things to come out just right- freakily obsessed- But still I try to understand the world around me.

Who inspires you?

My sister, she’s my role model, she’s also my motivation and she has always been there for me.

Who is your favorite designer and why?

My all time favorite fashion designers are Betsy Johnson and Luella. Why? Well, they design according to their inspiration, they break the trend rules. Also because their designs are so ‘’eye candy’’ crazy and rockery! Kind of like me! lol

What is your favorite song ever?

All the Small things by Blink 182 for the centuries of the centuries amen! But for me all the Blink 182 songs are awesome, they’re my favorite band ever since I was 9. Actually because of them I started listening to music. Unfortunately Blink 182 will not give a concert here.

What is your favorite song right now?

Runaway by Avril Lavigne. I love the lyric of the song; it’s just something that I would love to do. Just for one day run away, to New York, laugh till my stomach hurts, run through the city like a crazy person I am.

If you were a sweetie what would you be?

Sorry I didn’t answer this one but I really don’t know what they mean with sweetie. I know it’s a way of calling somebody. Pardon my ignorance…please :)

What's your favorite film?

For years and years I’ve always said Good Burger is my favorite movie ever, but after watching Doubt I’ve got to say GB runs second place now. Doubt is amazing! It’s a real masterpiece; I wish to make films like those in the future-yep I want to be a filmmaker-. Other than does two I have to include The Secret Life of Bees, My Sister's Keeper, The Parent Trap (1998), Brink (I’ve seen it for like a billion times and I never get tired of seeing it) and others that right now I don’t remember.

Who's your favorite actor?

Definitely Robin Williams, his improvisation skills are awesome. Each one of his lines makes me laugh. Other than him I would have to say Erik Von Detten (The biggest crush of my life ever since I was 5) and Heath Ledger. Oh! One of my top favorites of all times are Meryl Streep, Dakota Fanning, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Bynes.

If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?

New York City!!! I’m obsessed with New York, I wanted to go this summer but due to the fact that I’m broke, I had to postpone my dream. I would love to live there! And in London, it looks like an awesome city! I remember when I was a Spice Girl fan I wanted to be British so bad that I try to imitate the accent, but I really sucked at it, lol.

What are your 3 favorite smells?

Curious, Fantasy and an Invader Zim perfume I had.

What are your 3 favorite tastes?

Spaghettini Nerone (I’m an Italian food freak!) Chocolate and Strawberry ice cream!

What is your most treasured possession?

My Sony Camcorder, I love to film so really, I can’t be without it.

What did you always want to be/ do when you grew up?

I wanted to be so many things; I’ll try to put them in order of time. 1. Comedienne, 2. Archeologist (I even dug a hole in my backyard every time I came from school, thinking I was going to find a fossil or something) 2. Astronomer (I spent hours observing the sky and counting the stars, I never got bored) 3. Zoologist (I wanted lo live in a jungle and take care of wild animals)4. Politican: In eight grade I was so obsessed with politics, everyone in my class room was freaked out. Nobody wanted to debate with me. 5. Doctor: first a Pediatric Neurologist and then an Oncologist. But everything changed when I was 15, I wanted to be a film director, but still wanted to be a doctor. I even entered pre-med, but changed to journalism (don't know why) in the first semester. Now I’m decided to study Sociology and Filming and I don’t know where I’m going to stick the Journalism(I like it now). Jejeje Yep I know… I’m crazy! But what I really want is a career that can improve society, Filming and Journalism are ways of showing the world stories that are real and untold, and Sociology for me is a way to understand our world. Something I've been longing to do forever.

If you were an ice-cream what flavor would you be?

Double Fudge Chocolate, that’s my all time favorite!

If someone made a short film of your life, who would play you?

I think I would play me or maybe an angel or my consciences

What would your perfect afternoon consist of?

Friends, food, laughs and walking around the streets of Old San Juan, admiring the city and the sea that surrounds it.

If you were a flower, what would you be?

Tulips!!! A yellow tulip!

Diary of a Young Designer

Dear Routine, I'm sorry but don't stay up and wait for me...

Hey everybody I revived, missed me? Well I've been a really naughty blogger. I've been absent for the past days but it was due to medical conditions. I was under medication because I had an inflammation in one of the muscles of my left rib. So the medicine really put me to sleep. But today I'm finally okay and out of all those pills (except the ones I drink for my gastritis and Scoliosis... yeah I know I'm a sack of conditions but I'm not going to bore you with that). Today was a really fun and crazy day, I haven't had those type of days in years. So here is how it went...
9:00am: I went to the mall after taking my sis to her job.
9:30am: Wake up one of my best friends and tell her to meet me at the mall (waking up someone at 9:00am in summer vacations is a sin but hey! I didn't want to be in a mall all alone!
11:00am: Finish reading books at Borders (didn't buy anything at all since I'm in saving mode), my BFF arrived.
11:50am: In the movies cracking up! We were watching the best comedy of the year... The Hangover (it was awesome!)
2:45pm: We were on our way to the capitol city of the island (touristic area). He have fun walking around the colonial city with the strong breeze hitting us. Watching the sunny beaches surrounding the city's murals is our favorite part.
3:00pm: Walked through Marshalls without finding anything but we had fun joking around with the hats.
3:45pm: Heading back home with my sis after picking her up from work.

Everything was spontaneous, and I really liked that because usually everything in my life is planned. This time I got out of the routine something I enjoy doing. I think life shouldn't be a routine, it kills the excitement of living! What have you done to get out of the routine? And how do you feel about it? Hope you all have an awesome day!

You’ll never see food the same way...

Not everything in life is based on what you wear and how you look. That’s why this time I’m stepping out of the box, showing you that what really counts is what comes in our bodies through the most natural and human way, eating. As a fan of the book Fast Food Nation I learn that behind that happy meal lays an untold truth that the own government does not want society to know, purpose… profit. I know these books and films sound scary and some people don’t believe in these works. Some of my closest friends laugh at me whenever I give them the speech about the truth behind the counter of a fast food restaurant (traffic of illegal immigrants, worker abuse and the real composition of meals). I don’t blame them, each individual has the right to choose what they ingest and I have the right to communicate the truth. Food inc. is a documentary film about the hidden facts of the American agribusiness. What really relies in your food. How workers are being abuse and the food is being processed in a factory not a farm. Unfortunately I have to wait until it comes on DVD (November 3), since it’s not showing where I live. But at least the book is out waiting for me in Amazon.com. Since I couldn't upload the video here is the link to Food Inc. trailer. Enjoy!

Alice's tea with the Queen!

Today I’ll share with the world one of my favorite inspirations… Tea Party a la Alice in Wonderland. As you’ve all seen my blog is name after the story. At the age of six I fell in love with this wonderful world that Lewis Carroll created. If you had a world of your own would everything be nonsense? That’s what Alice wanted. I think mine would be nonsense too, compared to the world we live in today. Now, all this ‘’Eye Candy’’ and Tea Party theme has inspired various designers. Recently we’ve seen designers like Luella (my favorite fashion designer next to Betsy Johnson) bring this fantasy into reality and place it on the runway. Here I’ll share with you some pictures of her Spring/Summer 09 and some other pictures I found from Vogue girl Korea that were inspired by this trend. So grab your sweets and cakes and enjoy.

Lights , cameras and fashion...

I’m a big fan of vintage clothing even though I don’t possess any vintage piece in my wardrobe. But recently I’ve been seeing a comeback with the 50’s trend. The fifties made a big spin in fashion. Teenagers started to be the new fashion target (girls used to dress like their mother when they were teens). With the new youth movements the decade worked as a bridge, transforming the conservative forties style and opening way into the liberal sixties. Teens started earning money and buying their own clothes, creating their own styles and defining their own trends. But these trends were also influenced by the T.V, Hollywood films, magazines and music, from James Dean to Elvis Presley. Pretty much what occurs nowadays don’t you think? Fashion Designers started experimenting with new styles, for example famous fashion designer of the decade, Christian Dior, brought to the world in his Spring/Summer collection of 1947 the ‘’New Look’’ that consisted of a new silhouette. The pencil skirts (even though they were from the late forties) and the full skirts were born! As him other designers contributed to changes in the silhouette of women clothes, like Coco Channel. Baby boomers change the set in fashion; they gave the world an invigorating sense of individuality that fashion offers today, a new way of expression. Hope you like the pix! Enjoy!

Once upon a time...

Walking through the web I fell into this little whole of wonders that led me to this tiny corner of expression. My corner is not that extravagant (I’m just a beginner). But I’ll do my best to improve this place. In this world of dreams and wonders I’ll present to you my thoughts on my passion for fashion. I’m a teenage girl that after six months wondering whether to start or not this blog finally decided to create her own little space. I have a fascination for fashion, filming, photography, sociology and politics. My philosophy is that it doesn’t matter what’s in or out, each mind is a trend setter. Fashion is an art where you express yourself, where you reflect what’s in the inside. There’s no perfection in art, since its all creativity. Creativity and individuality creates the beauty of diversity. I present to you my perfect world of Louie in Wonderland where my dreams and wonders for my passions take place.
